John Howland, Commander of Soule Shuman Memorial VFW Post 4525, Eileen Dondlinger, President of Post’s Ladies Auxiliary, and John Blamey, President of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, proudly announce that the VFW Post’s benefit bingo netted more than $800 to aid in funding programs for the children of Waldoboro and the region.

Commander Howland stated in a press release, “The VFW is very proud to have helped raise this money. This part of the community foundation is an important first step in our community’s expansion of programs for all our residents.

President Dondlinger added, “It was very exciting to see so many community members turn-out for this event. It is a clear indication that folks feel this fund is very important to our children and the quality of life in our communities.”

John Blamey, President of the Medomak Valley Community Foundation, stated, ”The foundation is very grateful to the VFW and Auxiliary for their support of our fund raising efforts.”

He added, “I thank the community for its support, it was great to see everyone and to get the opportunity to discuss the Kevin Murray Memorial Fund. In addition, I want to recognize the area businesses and artisans who donated items to help make this a truly special event: Deb’s Diner, Dunkin’ Donuts, Hillside Collision Center, Moody’s Diner, Moody’s Gift Shop, The Village Café and Bakery, The Narrow’s Tavern, Hannaford Supermarket, Burnham’s Bloomers, RZR, Bear Hill True Value, Shelley’s Flowers, The Movie Pizza Shoppe, Eva McLain, Arlene Eugley, Sharon O’Brien, Elsie Eugley, and Sue Murray.”

Blamey continued, “I also want to thank the members of the foundation’s fund raising committee, and friends, for their help that evening, they made this fun event a great success: Pam Blamey, Bonnie Lash, Jim Letteney, Tina O’Donnell, Kyle Santheson, Scott Murray and Ben Vail.
