On Friday, Nov. 26, Art Space Gallery, 342 Main St., will kick off the holiday season with its final Front Room exhibit of the year.  “Unique and Affordable” will showcase original paintings, prints, jewelry, photography, ceramics and mixed media, all priced under $100. The cooperative gallery’s members wish to make their art accessible to all Midcoast shoppers and to celebrate their successful 2010 season.

As “Black Friday” (the day after Thanksgiving) is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year, Art Space Gallery will open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. or as long as shoppers are out and about. Many of the artists will be on hand throughout the day, something for which the cooperative gallery is known, making the purchase of art a more personal experience.

The festive exhibit will continue through Christmas Eve. On Friday, Dec. 3 from 5 to 8 p.m., the year’s final Night AIR (Arts in Rockland) art walk will be held. Art Space, located directly across from the Strand Theatre, will participate and refreshments will be served.

Gallery hours until Christmas will be Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., extended to 6 p.m. on Fridays. For more information, visit the gallery’s Facebook page or Web site, artspacemaine.com; or call 594-8784.
