Educators and students at all levels seeking courses toward teacher certification or re-certification can choose from a record number of courses offered at University College at Rockland for the spring 2011 semester which begins in January. Courses are taught by University of Maine System faculty at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Courses are delivered online, through video conference and interactive television and one graduate course will meet onsite. Students without high-speed Internet access can participate in the courses at URock’s well-equipped computer labs. Staff at the center offer support to all students who are new to online learning.

“Each semester we offer a greater number and variety of education courses through our center,” said Deborah Meehan, Director of University College at Rockland, in a press release. “We are excited to offer courses and programs in our community that will allow people with busy schedules to become certified as Maine teachers, or to improve their professional teaching skills.”
