A banner was presented to the Camden-Rockport community in recognition of its designation as being an Imagination Intensive Community at the Maine School Administrative District 28 school board meeting on Nov. 17.

The award recognizes the community’s valued and sustained efforts to invest in the imaginative development of children and youth. Area organizations that participated in the application process included: Bay Chamber Concerts, Youth Arts, Camden Hills Regional High School Visual and Performing Arts Department and Horizons Arts from SAD 28.

The Imagination Intensive Community recognizes all of the area organizations in schools and in the Camden-Rockport community that provide education and continued support for growth in theater, visual arts and music.

This recognition was made possible by the Maine Alliance for Arts Education and the Maine Department of Education with financial support from the Kennedy Center, The Betterment Fund and the Maine Arts Commission

The Camden-Rockport community is proud to be selected as one of six communities in the state of Maine that prides itself in supporting a wide variety of arts programming. A heartfelt thank you to all individuals, businesses, non-profits, schools and school boards that continue to support this community-wide effort.
