Every year, the Historic Inns of Rockland cap off Festival of Lights with a Holiday House Tour on the weekend after Thanksgiving. This year the Historic Inns are once again joining with the Friends of the Rockland Public Library and historic private homes nearby to jump start the spirit of the season. Participate in the tour and view historic inns and homes decked in all their holiday finery, while supporting Rockland Public Library.

Once again this year, a festival of trees will follow the Holiday House Tour with tabletop trees decorated by area businesses for auction at the library. The tour will be on Saturday, Nov. 27 from 1 to 4 p.m. followed by the silent auction with refreshments and baked goods at the Rockland Public Library starting at 4 p.m. Tickets to the Holiday House Tour are $10 per adult and free for children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at the LimeRock Inn, Captain Lindsey House, Granite Inn, or the Rockland Public Library in advance or at any of the participating inns the day of the event. All proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Rockland Public Library.

Plan to kick off the holidays with Rockland, Maine’s weekend Festival of Lights Celebration, Nov. 26 to 28. Santa will arrive by lobster boat, stores offer extended hours and a good old-fashioned holiday parade, plus an Eat, Drink and Be Merry Saturday street celebration, along with the Historic Inns of Rockland’s Holiday House Tour are highlights of the weekend.
