ASK…for Home Care’s Family Caregiver Support Group met on Thursday, Oct. 28 at the Owls Head Homestead to share their stories. The discussion focused on the quality of life of the caregiver and the fact that it is just as important as the patient’s quality of life. Caregivers talked about how they could tell when enough was enough and ways that they could take breaks and prevent burnout.

Kristin Tescher, a caregiver herself, spoke about services she is creating to help family caregivers. This month’s meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at the Owls Head Homestead.

Joanne Miller, ASK’s Administrator, recently attended a training session on Compassion Fatigue and will share what she learned with participants. Plans for dealing with the holidays and the extra stress they create will also be discussed. Refreshments will be served.
