Coastal Quilters will meet Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Lions’ Club on Lion’s Lane, Camden from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. November marks the event when two chapters of Pine Tree Quilters, Coastal Quilters and Georges Valley, hold their wonderful, annual, collaborative, “Quilters’ Auction & Sale.”

Both a live and silent auction are held and in addition, glorious treasures products abound on sales tables. All types of handmade fiber art projects and supplies for this work are featured, including quilt tops, napkins and placemats, runners, knitting, purses, various sizes of fabric totes/bags, fabrics, yarns and so much more. Some folks realize they’ll never complete some of those infamous “UFO’s” (unfinished objects), and offer those.  Just think – the work is partially done.

One of the key features for this event is the incredible variety of items offered and also the wide array of prices. Great way to either kick off or continue the holiday shopping. And, the live auction is always an affair to bring many laughs as spirited bidding often occurs.

Refreshment interludes are sprinkled throughout the event, (including sandwiches) and there is ample time to talk with the fabric artisans and just enjoy the camaraderie of folks interested in this dynamic form of practical, self-expression.

The event is free and open to the public, all welcome. Funds raised support the work of the quilting groups including their community service projects, educational projects and scholarship programs.
