Aqua Maine reported 10.13 inches of precipitation during October 2010 at the Mirror Lake Weather Station.

Last year, 6.89 inches of precipitation fell in October. The October average is 4.46 inches. The year-to-date precipitation is 56.98 inches. The year-to-date precipitation last year was 58.81 inches. The year-to-date precipitation for an average year is 38.80 inches.

The lowest total precipitation for October from the Aqua Maine records was in 1914 when no precipitation was recorded. The highest total was in 2005 when 17.49 inches was recorded.

October was unusually wet this year, coming in as the second wettest October recorded at this station since 1914, surpassed only by the 17.49 inches recorded in 2005, Aqua Maine said in the monthly weather almanac.

The warmest day of the month was Oct. 1 when the mercury hit 70 degrees. The coldest day was Oct. 16 when the maximum temperature was 51 degrees.

There were 89,450,000 gallons of water delivered to the distribution system this month. During the month of October, no water was pumped from Grassy Pond to Mirror Lake.
