“Food for Thought: Ten Years of Farm Branding” will be on display at the Belfast Co-op, 123 High St., Wednesday, Nov. 3 through Nov. 28. The public is invited to a First Friday reception Nov. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Gabe McPhail, a resident of Vinalhaven, has created illustrations and designs for a variety of Maine farm product labels and other marketing materials. McPhail’s illustrations have been transformed for this show into a series of archival prints, representing a wide range of artistic mediums and styles.

For the past 10 years, McPhail has worked as an illustrator and graphic designer, serving the promotional needs of small-scale businesses with custom logos, product labels, brochures, catalogs and other marketing materials. She specializes in promotional illustration for farmers and value-added agricultural producers.

Her other passion is book illustration. Inspired by illustrators such as David McPhail and Michael Sowa, she focuses primarily on children’s literature, creating work that is both warm and whimsical. To learn more about McPhail, visit workshop31.com.
