The town of Washington will celebrate its bicentennial in 2011, and the first event in the celebration is a new art exhibit at Gibbs Library, 40 Old Union Road.

“Washington: Then and Now” pairs town photographs from 1911 with current-day photos of the same locations. The exhibit is a partnership of the Washington Historical Society and Gibbs Library. Many of the current photos were taken by Cheryl McKeary of Washington.

“Washington: Then and Now” will be on display through February. For library hours, call 845-2663.
