The annual “Art In The Square” student scholarship fundraiser/fine art sale is coming up and the Boothbay Region Art Foundation invites artists to participate in the creative process of painting or designing a 12-by-12-inches work.

Each year, about a hundred of these works are exhibited for sale to benefit the BRAF Art Scholarship Fund and other art events for local youth. Every original square foot of art is on canvas and is priced at $100. Many are created by highly-regarded Maine artists, as well as talented emerging artists. A wide range of styles and media will be on display including watercolors, oils, pastels, acrylics, ink, textile and photography.

To enter, artists should stop by the Boothbay Region Art Foundation gallery, 1 Townsend Ave., and register. With the  registration fee of $8, $5 for BRAF members, participants will receive the 12-by-12-inches all-media canvas. Deadline for completed art is Tuesday, Nov. 23 at noon; finished work may be brought to the gallery up to that time.

“Art In The Square” will open the Day after Thanksgiving to weekends through Jan. 2. There will be a gala reception Saturday, Dec. 4 from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 633-2703.
