The Waldoboro Fire Department will be hosting their second annual haunted house on Halloween, Sunday, Oct. 31. The Old Waldoboro High School, home of the former A.D. Gray Middle School, on School Street, has been transformed again into a terrifying maze of horror.

This year’s theme is “The Old Waldoboro Hotel.” Those who dare check-in to the recreated hotel will experience the tale of how this once tranquil retreat became victim to the misfortunes of its former guests. Families with younger children are invited to visit “The Old Waldoboro Hotel” from 2 to 4 p.m. That same evening, from 6 to 9 p.m., the hotel will come to full life for all ages to experience the elevated terror as it returns to the exact horrific state it was in on the last night of its original existence.

As perspective guests wait for a vacancy at the hotel, they will have the opportunity to participate in a second event and go on a hayride. The hayride will begin in front of the haunted house and deliver guests to the lobby door of “the hotel”.

The requested donation is $1 per event/per person.

CWFD, a group of citizens raising funds to purchase a thermal imager for the town of Waldoboro, will be selling bake goods and refreshments near the entrance to the haunted house to support their efforts.

In addition to the individual members of the Waldoboro Fire Department, these Halloween events are sponsored in part by: The Waldoboro Firemen’s Association, The Waldoboro Firefighter’s Auxiliary, N.C. Hunt, Reny’s, Rockland Wal-Mart, Dow Furniture, Hammond Tractor, Donn Bowden Construction, and Bull Run Farm.
