Due to last Saturday’s wet weather, work on the Megunticook Riverwalk was rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 23, at the town-owned trail corridor next to the old Tannery site on Washington Street.

Anyone interested in helping to clear invasive species and other foreign materials from the 900-foot-long trail corridor should meet near the corner of Washington Street and Ames Terrace on Saturday at 1 p.m. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes, gloves, and long pants. If possible, volunteers should also bring their own loppers, saws, rakes, or shovels.

Members of the Megunticook Riverwalk Coalition, which is steering development of this public pathway, will be on hand to describe the trail’s features and progress to date, and to lead the work party.
