Family caregivers are not only stressed from their caregiving responsibilities, which can sometimes feel like a 36-hour day, but they also are stressed by the dearth of resources to assist them.

Family caregiver support groups can be a life line for these caregivers. They are wonderful ways to network, learn new strategies, discover resources, vent and feel validated.

ASK…for Home Care has been facilitating a new group for several months. The next meeting will be Thursday, Oct. 28 at noon at the Owls Head Homestead Community Room. Refreshments will be served and there will be time for caregivers to share their stories.

Kristin Tescher, who provides some unique services to family caregivers, will speak at the end of the meeting about some ways to care for self. There will also be information about the upcoming Health Fair, including fun exercises and giveaways for family caregivers.

The public is invited but space is limited, so please RSVP to or call 354-7077.
