On Friday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m., Capt. Rick Miles will give a talk on his cruises to Greenland, Newfoundland and Labrador aboard the Wanderbird. For several summers, Miles and his wife Karen have taken passengers on scenic trips to these sites rarely visited by small ships. Trips include sightings of whales, seabirds and icebergs, visits to charming small coastal ports and opportunities to meet the strong and amiable people of these lands.

The Wanderbird is a converted Dutch fishing vessel, well suited to the cold and occasionally stormy waters. Accommodations are comfortable and spacious.

This talk is an opportunity to learn about this part of the world and get a feel for a trip aboard Wanderbird.

The talk is free, but donations are always appreciated.

Sharp’s Point South and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum are at 75 Mechanic St. in Rockland. For more information on this talk and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum, call 701-7627, e-mail spsllc09@yahoo.com or visit the Web site at www.sailpowersteam.org.
