On Saturday Oct. 23,  Billy’s Tavern will host its annual Half-way to St. Paddy’s Day Party. This year’s party will feature The Pubcrawlers, New England’s premier Celtic-punk band.

Heavily influenced by legendary bands like The Pogues and Flogging Molly, The Pubcrawlers have a unique sound and are sure to get attendees on their feet and into the spirit of St. Paddy’s Day, even if there still are six months to go. The Pubcrawlers play a high-energy throw-your-fist-in-the-air-and-sing-along mix of traditional Celtic drinking tunes and modern punk rock. Hailing from Portland, the 10-member band features fiddle, guitar, mandolin, accordion, bagpipes and tin whistle.

There is a $5 cover for the music, which will start at 9 p.m. The St. Paddy’s Day celebration, however, will happen all day long with a special menu including corned beef and cabbage, corned beef sandwiches and shepherd’s pie, as well as drink specials.

Billy’s Tavern is located downtown, just off Beechwood Street behind the business block. For more information, call 354-1177 or visit billystavern.com.
