Pen Bay Healthcare is pleased to announce that Cindylou Feyler, office coordinator for Pen Bay Surgery, is the organization’s employee of the month for August 2010.

Feyler, with Pen Bay for more than 28 years, recently helped guide the merger of two busy surgical practices, playing a key role in setting up an appointment scheduling system, training staff on that system and sorting medical records.

Known as a scheduling guru, Feyler manages the surgical call schedule with a gentle problem-solving approach, while patients like working with her to schedule their procedures and hospital appointments, according to Sandra Clement, a coworker, who also said in a press release that Feyler “is an excellent team player and managing partner who uses problem situations as learning tools with her employees to improve service to our patients.”

One of the physicians Feyler works with recently commented that it would take two people to replace her.

Outside of the office, Feyler lives in Union with her husband of 31 years, Jay. Their son James is a graduate of Maine Maritime and is currently a 2nd engineer on the Overseas Texas City. Their other son Brandon was lost at sea. The Feylers are raising their granddaughter, Brianna, who is in first grade. In her spare time, Feyler enjoys tending her flower and vegetable gardens as well as oil painting. The Feyler’s have a camp in Northfield where the family hunts and fishes. In fact, she had her first moose permit and shot her first moose there last October.
