Bill Bunting will present his lively history book “Live Yankees: The Sewalls and Their Ships” Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at Waldoboro Public Library, 958 Main St./Route 220.

“Live Yankees” tells the story of the Sewall family and its strong force of merchant vessels that dominated sea trade as the 19th century drew to a close and the 20th century began. Drawing stories not just from the Sewall families themselves, “Live Yankees” also picks from the cornucopia of stories that played out on their ships.

A biography of a family and a business, “Live Yankees” is well worth the read for those curious about business or seafaring history. Books will be available for sale and signing at the library.

Upcoming in Waldoboro Public Library’s ongoing series of author events, author John Osier will present “As I Remember: Memories of Bremen, 1934-1951” Saturday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m. Osier will reminisce about his life as a young boy and man in Bremen, and his book will be available for sale and signing.
