Maine School Administrative District 40 Adult Education presents these Audubon workshops with Don Reimer:

A survey of Maine’s birds

Maine has roughly 230 species of breeding birds, and it is possible to see up to 400 different species at various times of the year. Tips on identification of many migrant species and their unique migration strategies and habitat requirements will be included in this brief overview of Maine’s dynamic and changing bird population. Class meets Wednesday, Oct. 6 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Medomak Valley High School. Fee: $15.

A photo tour of Weskeag Marsh

At 530 acres, the Weskeag Marsh is a year-round host to great numbers of birds and mammals. The marsh is an International Shorebird Survey Site and is designated as one of Maine’s 22 Important Bird Areas. This workshop will focus on digiscope photos that illustrate the seasonal changes that occur at one of Maine’s most productive marsh areas. Class meets Wednesday, Oct. 13 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Medomak Valley High School. Fee: $15.
