In honor of the United Nation’s observance of World Habitat Day, Midcoast Habitat for Humanity announced several events for all ages.

The week starts with an Around the World Potluck Dinner on Monday, Oct. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the First Congregational Church in Camden. Bring a dish from any culture and learn about the need for safe, decent housing worldwide and right here in Knox County.

On Wednesday, Oct. 6, a slideshow and talk on Midcoast Habitat’s newest building project, incorporating energy efficiency and sustainable design, will take place at the Thomaston Public Library from 6 to 7 p.m.

Children age 9 to 13 can help build throughout the week in a child-friendly building project at Camden Hills Regional High School, led by Michael Roy of Phi Home Designs.

The Family Fall Festival at Plants Unlimited on Oct. 2 will feature Midcoast Habitat’s “Build a House, Start a Garden, Grow a Family” display.
