Heartwood Regional Theater Company will launch its eighth season, sponsored by Bath Savings Institution, with delightfully scary stories by Washington Irving, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Emily Dickinson and Edgar Allen Poe.

“Fireside Tales” will be presented during Pumpkinfest for two performances only: Friday and Saturday, Oct. 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the downtown Skidompha Public Library, right in the middle of the festive weekend activities. This staged reading of classic, chilling tales will be read aloud by three seasoned voices of Heartwood: John D. Adams of Nobleboro; Millie Santiago of Boothbay Harbor; and Peter Christine of Alna.

Seating is general admission, and reservations are strongly suggested by calling 563-1373 or sending e-mail to info@heartwoodtheater.org.  Tickets for adults are $9 in advance and $12 at the door; $5 for students.
