Damariscotta River Grill is accepting applications from artists interested in exhibiting in its popular Art at the Grill series in 2011.

“Plans are in the works for the 2011 shows at the Grill, and we would love to hear from artists who may not have shown at the Grill before,” said Kim Traina. “The shows attract local and regional art enthusiasts and result in promising exposure for Maine artists.”

Traina, owner of Midcoast graphic design and marketing firm Jumpstart Creative, coordinates Art at the Grill with co-owner Jean Kerrigan. A respected and sought-after placement for up-and-coming and established artists, the Grill supports each show with an artists’ reception and promotional materials designed by Traina.  Each show lasts five to six weeks and generally includes two or more artists.

Artists interested in showing their work at the Grill during its bi-monthly exhibits should submit their work for consideration to Traina at jumpstartcreative@gmail.com and include a link to their Web site or two jpegs of their work. The deadline for applications is Thursday, Oct. 21.

Now in its fifth year, the Art at the Grill series brings recognition to Maine artists and has become an integral part of the area’s social scene. Since its inception, the Grill has hosted more than 75 artists, from painters to potters, photographers to fabric artists.
