On Sept. 16, the lighthouse keeper’s dollhouse in the children’s room of the Thomaston Public library was dedicated to the memory of Amelia Dashiell who, along with her father Richard Dashiell, was killed in an auto accident on June 30, 2009. Amelia would have been 12 years old on Sept. 23.

Amelia often accompanied her aunt and uncle Alice and William Dashiell to the library when she visited from Maryland and participated in the children’s programs. It would delight her to know that the children of Thomaston are enjoying the dollhouse in her memory.

The lighthouse was constructed by Kay Masse of Waldoboro who incorporated many original design features into the lighthouse and the furniture.
