Gibbs Library will host local author Paul Doiron Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. Doiron will talk about his new fiction book, “The Poacher’s Son.” The Maine native is the editor in chief of Down East: The Magazine of Maine and Down East Books.

Set in the wilds of Maine, “The Poacher’s Son” is an explosive tale of an estranged son thrust into the hunt for a fugitive – his own father.  Doiron uses his outdoor experience as a Registered Maine Guide to write a compelling story of the woods.

Doiron attended Yale University, where he graduated with a degree in English, and he holds a master of fine arts degree in creative writing from Emerson College. He lives on a Midcoast trout stream with his wife, poet Kristen Lindquist.

Admission is free. Books will be available for purchase and autographs. Gibbs Library is at 40 Old Union Road. For more information, call 845-2663.
