William “Bill” or “Woody” Woodcock, 55, died Sept. 20, 2010, at his home in Waldoboro. He was born Sept. 1, 1955, in Rockland to Lawrence and Shirley Ingraham Woodcock. He was raised in Waldoboro and was a graduate of Medomak Valley High School in the class of 1973.

Bill attended the University of Southern Maine and was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. He was a longtime employee of Bath Iron Works. Bill enjoyed being outdoors whether puttering around the homestead or cruising down river. He especially enjoyed spending time at the woods camp in Haynesville. His latest project was growing pumpkins for the pumpkinfest.

He was predeceased by his father on Sept. 26, 1994, and his sister, Laurie, on Aug. 13, 1986.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becki” Woodcock of Waldoboro; his sons, Ryan Woodcock of Waldoboro and Richard Woodcock and his companion Amber of Gardiner; his grandsons, Aidan Woodcock of Rockland and Maverick Woodcock of Gardiner; his mother, Shirley Woodcock of Waldoboro; his sisters, Mary Bailey of Waldoboro and Helen Tetu of Brunswick; and his nephew and several nieces.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held Friday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Chapel on Dutch Neck Road in Waldoboro. The Rev. John Ineson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dutch Neck Cemetery in Waldoboro.
