The library’s annual Fall Book Sale coincides with Camden’s October Harbor Arts Festival on the weekend of Oct. 2 and 3.

The library will again offer an indoor children’s book sale on Friday, Oct. 1, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., and day-long book sales under the tents on Saturday and Sunday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on Oct. 2 and 3.

The fall colors may be found on the dust jackets of thousands of books at the sale. The under-the-tents sale will feature a selection of hardcover books of fiction from current best-selling authors such as Tess Gerritson, James Patterson, Richard Russo, and Nora Roberts to past best-sellers from Robert Ludlum, Robert Clancy, Ed McBain, Margaret Truman, and Elizabeth George. Cooking, gardening, biographies, history, travel, health, and reference books present a bevy of choices. There will also be a selection of Maine books, maritime and marine books, and a very good selection of books involving the arts.

The audio/visual selections are overflowing with VHS movies, DVD movies, CDs, and a very good selection of cassette tapes and books on tape. Friday’s children’s book sale in the Picker Room from “will be well stocked for the younger person in your life,” says Don White, book sale chairman. “Bring the children, they’ll have fun picking out a book for you to read to them.”

“Meet old friends, make new friends, and stock up for the cooler days ahead,” continued White. “Remember, sharing pre-read books benefits the giver and user alike. When you give a book or buy a book at our book sales, the monies raised help maintain library services and helps the cycle continue.”
