The Rockland Public Library presents a puppet show Saturday, Sept. 18 at 2 p.m.

Nancy Tyndall, local puppeteer will present a tale from Lapland titled, “The Sun’s Sister”. This is a colorful fairytale about friendship and the world of the sky. It’s a lively tale, lots of fun; all the while asking without words, “What does it take to make a new day?”

The Milkweed Puppet Theater is a one-woman troupe consisting of Tyndall, who is from Montville. She has traveled throughout the state for more than 20 years, performing original, interactive shows and teaching puppetry.

“Stories are like a fairytale herd of cows in a nutshell: something that children want to hold onto for the wonder and the laughter; yet something that gives them courage and the comfort of a loving tale,” she said.

This puppet show is free, but space is limited. For more information please contact Jean Young, Children’s Librarian at 594-0310.
