The 2010 Camden High School Alumni Banquet was a huge success. That’s what the executive members¬† of the Camden High School Alumni Association agreed on at their Aug. 18 meeting.

More than 200 people came from near and far to enjoy the evening, and according to reunion organizers, many attendees reported what a wonderful time they had, and what a beautiful place it was to hold the banquet. It was a beautiful summer’s evening, Point Lookout was the perfect setting, the meal was delicious, and the service was professional, organizers said in a press release. The Silent Auction took in more than $1,300 to help defray expenses and add to the scholarship fund. The sale of leis, for a prize of 15 bottles of wine, earned more than $600 for the CHS/Frances Schipper Scholarship Fund.

The silent auction was a success, thanks to all the alumni and businesses who donated to it. The alumni agreed to repeat it next year, and make it even bigger. Those wishing to donate something of value to the auction throughout the year may do so by e-mailing  David Ames at or by calling 789-5118.

Organizers thank everyone who attended the 2010 banquet, making it such a huge success. A meeting was held on Sept. 8 to discuss plans for the 2011 alumni banquet.  By unanimous decision, Point Lookout will, again, be the designated location on Aug. 13, 2011.
