Studio RED will offers a dance and movement workshop Friday, Sept. 24 from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the Coastal Children’s Museum at Sharp’s Point South, 75 Mechanic St.

Vanessa Knauss is director and instructor at Studio RED (Reaching youth through Education in Dance) in Rockland and has been teaching dance for more than 15 years. She has tremendous experience working with young children in her role as a resident dance artist for the Bradford County Regional Arts Council and has developed programs that work to teach social, communication and traditional academic skills through the medium of dance used in BCRAC’s award-winning “Learning Early Network.

Although an expert early childhood educator, Studio RED teaches community members of all ages, from toddlers to adults, dance styles from ballet to hip hop. Knauss’ programs for young children teach ballet fundamentals through rhymes and silly songs, and children will be encouraged to participate in the creative process while building social interaction skills, strength, flexibility and coordination.

Due to space limitations, attendance will be limited and registration is required.
