Camden singer/songwriter and instrumentalist Gordon Bok will perform Sunday, Sept. 19 at the St. Lawrence Arts Center, 76 Congress St., at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25. Bok also is an accomplished visual artist whose work will be on exhibit at the center through the end of September.

Seafarer, songwriter extraordinaire, excellent instrumentalist and “painter” of moods, Bok takes his audiences over the bay and out to sea through a labyrinth of emotions from joy to fear and awe at the immense wonderment of the world we live in. Free of even a hint of self-infatuation, his concerts are devoted to songs rooted in history or sparked by the imagination. For decades now, Bok has been writing and collecting songs inspired by life in Maine and the Maritime Provinces.

For those interested in Bok’s unusual and melodic guitar accompaniments, there will be a guitar workshop at earlier in the day, at 10 a.m. Bok will demonstrate techniques and fingerings; attendees should already know the fundamentals of playing a guitar as this is not a class for the very beginner. Attendees need to bring their own guitars to the workshop. Tickets for the workshop are $15 and are separate from the evening performance. Limited spaces are open; to reserve on, visit stlawrencearts.org.

Tickets for Bok’s performance are available at any BullMoose Music location and online at stlawrencearts.org.
