The Midcoast Chapter of the Maine Women’s Network cordially invites members, guests, and the general public to its first meeting on Oct. 6 at Rub’s Restaurant, also known as The Haven Event Center on Route 90 in Rockport.

Each meeting provides meaningful networking opportunities for members to market themselves and their businesses, as well as to make personal contacts. This meeting is sponsored by Midcoast Chapter member Kim Palermo, co-owner of Elm Street Printing.

The Midcoast Chapter is excited to announce the first of our “Healthy, Wealthy & Wise” speaker series. The presenters are a mix of women with expertise in the areas of finance, business development, non-profit leadership, social entrepreneurship, health and wellness. This series will be filled with practical, hands-on, ready-to-use information, knowledge and advice that members and guests will be able to use immediately to help them meet both personal and professional goals.

The first presentation for the Maine Women’s Network “Healthy, Wealthy & Wise” series will feature Elizabeth Stefanski.

Stefanski is an accomplished systems thinker and social innovation professional with expertise leading organizational renewal, bringing a new business to market, and championing social entrepreneurs. Stefanski came to Maine over three years ago to become the executive director of the Maine Women’s Fund, an organization dedicated to investing the power of women and the dreams of girls. There, she is devoted to ensure that Maine is stronger because women and girls are realizing their full potential as economic citizens and world-class leaders. Prior to joining the fund, Stefanski helped launch Global Giving — the first online marketplace for philanthropy to market — as their chief program officer. Elizabeth worked internationally for five years during her tenure at Ashoka, helping entrepreneurs diversify their revenue base and scale their initiatives. She has her BA from the School of International Service at American University. She lives in Falmouth with her husband and two girls.

She will speak on the dynamic nature of women’s leadership and creativity, and what that means to our business models, structures, and the bottom line.

The cost, which includes full buffet and dessert, time for networking and the presentation, is $20 for members, $25 for guests of members and $28 for non-members. Non-members are always welcome. Members are encouraged to register their guests in advance for the member guest rate. Online pre-registration for members, guests and non-members is required by Sept. 29.
