An arrest or summons does not constitute a finding of guilt. An individual charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Lincolnville Police Department reported the following activity for the week ending Sept. 2:

Aug. 26

Officer Curt Andrick issued seven written warnings following a traffic detail on Atlantic Highway.

Aug. 29

Officer Merl Reed conducted a bail check on a subject on Springbrook Drive. No violations found.

Aug. 30

Chief Ron Young conducted radar details on Hope Road and Main Street. Two warnings were issued.

Aug. 31

Young responded to a motor vehicle complaint of a vehicle operating erratically on Belfast Road. Young stopped the vehicle on Hope Road and did a check on the female driver, who stated she had been previously distracted. No further action taken.

Sept. 1

Officer Brian Lunt responded to a criminal mischief complaint on Wentworth Road. As a result of the investigation, Gustoff Johnson, 34, of Lincolnville was warned for criminal mischief and warned not to be on the property of the complainant.

Lunt responded to a wildlife complaint of a beaver dam and mischief on Beach Road. Lunt referred the property owner to the Maine Warden Service.

Lunt responded to Fernald’s Neck Road for a criminal trespass complaint after being advised by Lake Warden Ken Bailey of four juveniles swimming at the Ledges. Lunt made contact with four male juveniles ages 16 and 17 and warned them all for criminal trespass and not to return to the location.

Dylan Smith, 20, of Rockport was issued a summons for speeding 54 mph in a 40 mph posted zone by Lunt on Slab City Road.

James Bodman, 22, of South Thomaston was issued a summons for speeding 59 mph in a 45 mph posted zone by Lunt on Beach Road.

Sept. 2

Mark Bergelin, 31, of Lincolnville was issued a summons for an expired inspection sticker by Andrick on Main Street.

Katie Orlando, 28, of Chester, N.H., was issued a summons for speeding 50 mph in a 30 mph zone by Andrick on Atlantic Highway.

Andrick is investigating a complaint of criminal mischief on Heal Road in which a complainant’s car was tampered with.

Lincolnville Police responded to one animal control complaint during the activity period.
