Members and friends of the Spruce Head Community Church are very pleased to welcome Christopher Jay Noland as the pastor of Spruce Head Community Church. At a special business meeting held Aug. 1, the membership exhibited their unified support for Pastor Chris by voting unanimously for his call.

Pastor Chris and his wife Marsha both attended Piedmont Bible College of Winston-Salen, N.C., Chris majoring in Biblical studies and Marsha in missions and Christian education. Pastor Chris received his certification of ordination from the Smith Grove Baptist Church of Linwood, N.C. and his certificate of license to the Gospel Ministry from the College Park Baptist Church of Reidsville, N.C. Pastor Chris’ 31 years belies his activity and achievements. He is currently in a master’s degree program in Biblical studies and Christian counseling from Tyndale Theological Seminary of Texas.

Prior to being Senior Pastor of the West End Baptist Church in Manchester, Ga., Pastor Chris has been a Youth Pastor for more than three years and served two other churches as Associate Pastor and Senior Pastor.

Pastor Chris and his family have frequented the Midcoast area on numerous occasions. Marsha was born in Houlton and when her family moved to Cushing, she attended vacation bible school at Spruce Head Community Church. Her parents, Giles and Geraldine Day now reside in Skowhegan. Pastor Chris is looking forward with eagerness to begin his ministry at Spruce Head.

The first Sunday for Pastor Chris, his wife Marsha and two children, Emma, 6, and Eban, 5, will be Sept. 12. Sunday  services include Sunday School at 9:454 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. and evening service at 6 p.m. Midweek prayer meeting is held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.

An installation service for Pastor Chris will be held on Sunday, Sept. 26 followed by a fellowship lunch held at the community hall in Spruce Head. All are invited to attend this service of celebration and the fellowship luncheon to follow.
