Coastal Mountains Land Trust invites the community to an open house at Beech Hill in Rockport on Saturday, Sept. 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Land Trust volunteers will open Beech Nut, the historic stone house at the summit, and provide guests with information about the history and management of the preserve.

The Beech Hill Scrapbook, recently completed by Land Trust outreach intern, Sarah Oakes, will be available for viewing. Anyone wishing to contribute to the book can contact the Land Trust at info@coastalmountains.org or speak with a volunteer at the open house. This event series will feature two open houses per month at Beech Hill through October. Please visit www.coastalmountains.org for dates and times.

Coastal Mountains Land Trust has worked since 1986 to permanently conserve land to benefit the natural and human communities of western Penobscot Bay. To date, it has protected over 8,100 acres in the region for their natural, scenic and public recreation resources. They own and manage Beech Hill Preserve and completed restoration of the historic building from its foundation to its sod roof in November of 2007.
