The Georges River Tidewater Association will hold its annual meeting and lobster dinner Saturday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. on the Thomaston Green (former prison field) under a tent. The site overlooks the Narrows with views over the harbor and upper bay. Parking is available adjacent to the old police barracks off Route 1.

For reservations contact Sherry Frazer at 354-0709 or gsfrazer@myfairpoint.net before Sept. 5. The cost for dinner is $20 and includes local lobster, fresh corn, crusty bread, slaw and blueberry pie. Complimentary beverages are available. Playin’ Possum will perform.

After dinner Jon Eaton will introduce guest speaker Dr. David Townsend, professor of oceanography at the School of Marine Sciences at the University of Maine at Orono. Townsend will talk briefly about the ways in which global climate change is affecting the waters and marine life in the Gulf of Maine.
