Catinka Knoth will give a watercolor demonstration on painting a Maine barn in September scene Friday, Sept. 3 at 11 a.m. at her studio at Lincoln Street Center for Arts and Education, 24 Lincoln St. This event is free and open to the public.

Knoth will create another version of her watercolor “Haying at Harjula’s.” Onlookers will see how the glazing of watercolors builds up the tones of shadow areas. The demonstration precedes a four-part studio watercolor workshop series Knoth will teach on Painting September Scenes. Classes will meet every Tuesday in September. For more in formation and to sign up, call Knoth at 596-0069 or 542-7317.

Knoth, known for her watercolors of Maine scenes and whimsical animal drawings, regularly gives workshops in watercolor and drawing for adults and children. Her web site, catinkacards.com, shows examples of her art and teaching.
