Zing! is adopting practices that have been proved effective in pilot projects across the United States. Primary care physicians, first from within the Pen Bay Pediatrics practice and later from the community at large, will refer to the Zing! program patients ages six and older who are obese or at risk of becoming so. The high-intensity, individualized programs will last four months. Zing! will be managed by a program coordinator who also is a registered nurse and exercise physiologist. For additional information about Zing!, parents should call Pen Bay Pediatrics at 593-5600.

Penobscot Bay Medical Center is the leading regional referral hospital in Midcoast Maine and a member of the not-for-profit Pen Bay Healthcare family of services, which includes Pen Bay Physicians & Associates, Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice, Quarry Hill Retirement Community and the Knox Center for Long Term Care.
