Dan Daly, a local artist whose paintings of Belted Galloways and coastal scenes have become very popular at the annual Aldermere Art Show and Sale, will host an afternoon plein air painting session Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 3 p.m. at the farm on Russell Avenue.

This outdoor painting activity will help participants learn the proper techniques for painting outside and on the scene of their subjects. There are definite techniques for how and where to set up a painting station and how to stay focused on one’s subject.

Attendees of the presentation are welcome to create alongside Daly as he paints that day. Those who plan to paint or draw should bring all of their own materials. Daly enjoys painting the pastoral settings at Aldermere Farm, but may choose any subject that catches his eye that day. Space is limited for this afternoon workshop; to register, send e-mail to spost@mcht.org or call 236-2739. The event date is subject to change if weather and lighting are poor.  Donations will be accepted.
