Texas-born, Louisiana-raised pianist/vocalist/songwriter Marcia Ball, touring in support of her Grammy-nominated CD “Peace, Love & BBQ,” will perform Tuesday, Aug. 31 in the upstairs music room of Time Out Pub, 275 Main St.

In a changeup form both the club’s Monday night blues series format and Ball’s customary large venues, the audience will be limited to 100 in order to provide an intimate evening with the popular blues artist.

Ball’s groove-laden New Orleans R&B, heart-wrenching ballads and driving Gulf Coast blues have made her a favorite of music fans all over the world. Her music mixes equal parts simmering soul fervor and rollicking Crescent City piano. In addition to her Grammy nomination, Ball has collected seven Blues Music Awards since 2001 including the 2009 Pinetop Perkins Piano Player Of The Year award; and was voted Female Blues Artist Of The Year and Most Outstanding Musician — Piano” in the 2009 Living Blues Readers’ Poll. She was inducted into the Gulf Coast Music Hall of Fame this past January.

Her Rockland performance will begin 7 p.m. The show has sold out; for more information, call Paul Benjamin at 596-6055.
