Camden Falls Gallery’s summer season continues with “Maine Cottage and Architecture,” featuring work by Janis Sanders. The show will open Saturday, Aug. 21 with an artist’s reception from 5 to 8 p.m. at the gallery’s new location between the Public Landing and Bayview Landing.

In this new collection of paintings, Sanders continues to explore the beauty that is Maine, distilling the essence of actual specific Maine places through the visual poetry of oil paint.  Roaming the coast, Sanders finds evocative, compelling scenes in nooks and crannies all along the shoreline. Long dark shadows powerfully contrast in his newer work with brightly lit barns and boats, while cliffs contrast with sky and sea.

Camden Falls Gallery showcases fine original art from both emerging and established artists.  The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, call 470-7027 or visit
