James L. Jarvis has been named branch manager at Camden National Bank. In his new role, Jarvis will have responsibility for business development and the day-to-day operations of the Damariscotta branch.

“Jim has a lot of energy, and he’ll need it because he’ll be out there on the street meeting customers and community members all the time,” said June Parent, senior vice president and senior retail banking officer of Camden National Bank. “If you haven’t heard from Jim yet, expect his call any day now.”

Jarvis comes to Camden National from Key Bank, where he was most recently the Bath branch manager. Before that position, Jarvis served as a relationship manager for Key Bank in Falmouth and Augusta. Prior to his banking career, Jarvis was general manager at Finish Line in Portland. In this position, Jarvis will report to Greg Sirois, vice president and retail regional manager.

“I truly love working with existing and new clients to help them achieve their financial goals,” said Jarvis. “In the time that I’ve been here, I’ve already seen the benefits to customers in working with an independent, Maine-based bank.”

Jarvis received a bachelor of arts in communications from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn. He has signed up to serve as a big brother for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Midcoast Maine beginning this fall. Jarvis lives in Woolwich with his wife, Elizabeth, a teacher for Edgecomb Eddy, and their 16-month-old daughter.
