Paint the Town Waldoboro is back for its fifth season and it is bigger and better than ever. With 45 artists from all over New England — and one from France, the fresh paintings for auction Saturday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Soule-Schuman VFW hall on Mill Street are expected to show an exciting variety of styles, subjects, colors and media.

Art lovers and collectors will want to be there at 6 p.m. for the preview and a meet-the-artists reception with wine, soft beverages and hors d’oeuvres.

This year’s anniversary event has many new features including the month-long preview show at Tidemark Gallery. During gallery hours of Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can see and purchase examples of the work of most of the artists who will be creating brand new work on Saturday.

Also new this year, Big Bob’s Big Dawgs will be serving snacks and sandwiches for artists and visitors all day at the VFW. Best of all, Paint the Town leader John Blamey is back on the job and it is going to be a grand celebration.

Tidemark Gallery, in partnership with the Medomak Valley Land Trust, Waldoboro Public Library, Waldoboro Lions and Medomak Valley Community Foundation, organizes Paint the Town Waldoboro, and proceeds from the event will be divided between the four nonprofits.
