Midcoast Maine will be well represented during the “Down East Sails Up Town” art exhibition Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 21 and 22. Billed as an Awesome August Art Affair, the outdoor show will open 10 a.m. Saturday and noon Sunday.

The public is invited to a pre-event reception Friday, Aug. 20 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the sponsoring gallery byDESIGN, 20 Harlow St.

More than 200 artists from all across Maine and other countries will have work in the show. Midcoast artists include Nicole Marie Fuller of Rockland; Anne Cronin, Deborah Flood, Betsy Headley, Eric Leppanen and Neal Parent of Belfast; Lesia Sochor of Brooks; Lisa Holt of Camden; and Jay Sawyer of Warren.

In addition to the visual art, the weekend will feature live music and other cultural events. Bringing a long a lawn chair is advised. In the case of inclement weather, attendees will be directed to indoor locations.
