The Taj Mahal Trio will perform Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the Camden Opera House, Elm Street/Route 1, at 8 p.m. General admission tickets for the concert are $55.

Composer and multi-instrumentalist Taj Mahal, a two-time Grammy winner and one of the most influential American blues and roots artists of the past half-century, will perform with his sleek-suited trio on vocals, guitar, keyboards and banjos, joined by Kester Smith on drums and Bill Rich on bass.

In his never-ending exploration of the complex origins and underpinnings of American music, Taj Mahal has forged a four-decade career by gathering and distilling countless musical traditions from a range of geographical and cultural sources including the Mississippi Delta, the Appalachian backwoods, the African continent, the Hawaiian islands, Europe, the Caribbean and much more.
