Hypnotist Roderick Russell will bring his amazing show back to the Waldo Theatre, Main Street/Route 220, Friday, Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. The Discovery Channel, the Travel Channel, CNN, MTV and “Ripley’s Believe It Or Not” all have featured Russell and his unusual and exceptional form of entertainment.

Imagine a group of your closest friends and colleagues volunteering to go on stage to be hypnotized. After only mere moments, they fall deeply and completely into what appears to be a state of profound sleep, only to awaken seconds later feeling refreshed, revived and thoroughly convinced that they are not actually on stage but are instead lounging on the beach. One of the most hilarious types of entertainment to watch, or be a part of, the hypnosis stage show makes audience members the stars of the show.

By applying the solid medical principles of clinical hypnosis to the realm of entertainment, Russell guides participants on a mental journey unlike any other where they get to act out the most hilarious scenarios – from meeting movie stars to forgetting their names and losing body parts – believing that it is real the entire time. For those on stage, it can be the most vivid experience of your life and will create stunning memories. And those watching may find their faces hurt from laughing so much.

The show is appropriate for families, and participating is strictly volunteer. Tickets are $10, $8 for students. To make reservations, call 832-6060 and leave a message or send e-mail to info@thewaldo.org.
