On Sept. 20 at 8 a.m., the “doors” will open to the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce’s auction, which will take place on the Internet at BiddingforGood.com/PBRCCAuction.

The featured item this year at the chamber auction will be a Fisher HT Series snowplow from Fisher Engineering, valued at $5,115. The Fisher HT Series snowplow is engineered for today’s half-ton trucks. The HT Series features Fisher’s Minute Mount 2 on/off system, halogen headlamps and the original Fisher trip edge design. Based in Rockland, Fisher plows have earned a solid reputation for reliability and strength. Blade widths are 7 feet and 6 feet.

The online auction bidding will run from Sept. 20 at 8 a.m. to Oct. 11 at 9 p.m., with about 80 items heading to a live auction Friday, Oct. 15 at the Rockland Elks Lodge, located at 210 Rankin St. in Rockland. There will be live auction items, $100 cash raffle prizes, raffle items, a cash bar and a concession stand. Bruce Gamage will be the auctioneer.

The chamber of commerce currently has 160 items, valued at more than $32,000.

The live auction items will be clearly identified on the Web site and absentee bidding will be available for those that cannot attend the live event.

Chamber members will be receiving e-mails about the auction and can forward those e-mails to invite an unlimited number of guests to virtually “attend” and take part in the auction.

Members of the public can also participate by going to BiddingforGood.com/PBRCCAuction. Using software provided by BiddingForGood, an organization with a focus on serving nonprofit organizations, and thanks to the generosity of donors, the chamber of commerce has been assembling an exciting catalog of hundreds of auction items over the past few months.

Items up for bid include business services, artwork, unique experiences, travel, lodging packages, dining, recreational activities, gift baskets, train rides, boat trips, festival tickets, landscaping supplies and much, much more.

Everyone is welcome to browse, shop, or just drop by and sign the guest book to show their support for the auction at BiddingforGood.com/PBRCCAuction.

Money raised by the auction will go toward supporting the many community and business initiatives of the chamber of commerce in making the area a great place to live and do business.

Donations will be accepted through September; log on to the site and click on the “Donate Now” button or contact Shari Closter at the chamber of commerce at 596-0376, ext. 22 or shari@therealmaine.com.
