For one night only, Belfast Maskers will reprise “Piece of My Heart” Sunday, Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. on the Belfast Maskers Festival Stage in Steamboat Landing Park. The evening of Janis Joplin’s music, as performed by Carlene Thornton and a live band, packed in a standing-room-only crowd for its first performance at the Legion Hall in June.

“As an entertainment writer, I interviewed Janis Joplin in 1969. Carlene Thorton is as close to the real thing as I have ever seen,” said Stephen Allen, a retired journalist who lives in Belfast.

Tom Luther returns on the keyboard and Jason Dean on the drums, joined on stage by Frank Knowles on the bass and Phil Clement on guitar.

Tickets are $15 at the park, one hour before the show; by calling Belfast Maskers’ box office at 338-9668; or at Yo Mamma’s Home, 96 Main St.
