“New Traditions,” a collection of fabric collage and assemblage quilt art by Diane Getty, will go on view Sunday, Aug. 1 in the Jean Picker Room of Camden Public Library, Atlantic Avenue. The public is invited to an opening reception for the artist from 2 to 4 p.m.

Getty creates exquisite fabric art in dazzling colors and textures and has created several past exhibits for the Picker Room. Viewers will enjoy a diversity of themes in collage including nature, urban living, abstractions, family stories, holidays and some of the anxieties of modern life. Mosaics, silk scarves and three-dimensional work also will be included.

Getty’s work, a witness to her lifelong love affair with fabrics and found materials, will remain on view for the entire month of August.
