This year’s Union Fair/Wild Blueberry Festival will run for eight days instead of the seven days held in the past. The fair will be held Aug. 21-28.

Nancy Ward, Exhibition Hall superintendent, said this means all exhibits must be brought to the fair on Thursday and Friday before the fair — Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 6 p.m. and Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. Previous exhibitors were mailed premium books. New exhibitors are needed and encouraged to participate. Premiums and ribbons are given as awards for exhibitors’ work. For more information call Ward at 845-2878.

The Exhibition Hall has many booths for granges and other organization, displays of farm produce, an Exhibitors Gift Shop where items are sold to the public, photography and artwork exhibits, as well as an ice cream booth and the Peoples Methodist Church lunch booth.

On Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 2 p.m. the Swingtimers will play oldies of the ’40s and ’50s and country. Members of the band play keyboard, guitar, saxophone, accordion and drums. On Friday, Aug. 27 there will be an antique appraiser to evaluate any small items people bring to the hall. Throughout the week there will be handiwork/craft demonstrations.
