Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Wine List Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.

For the sixth year, the Hartstone Inn received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. The annual awards by Wine Spectator, one of the world’s leading wine appreciation publications, recognize the restaurants offering a well-chosen selection of at least 100 wines by a number of quality producers that match the menu in both price and style.

“We are thrilled to receive the Wine Spectator award for the sixth year,” said Mary Jo Brink, owner of the Hartstone Inn. “Our list has expanded to feature 140 selections, with many choices under $35. I can’t think of a better ‘job’ than tasting new wines to feature on our wine list.”

The Hartstone Inn’s wine program is run by Brink, whose husband, Michael Salmon, is the executive chef and co-owner. Brink has more than 27 years of experience in restaurants and resort hotels and enjoys sharing her wine knowledge with the guests. The inn’s wine inventory is stored in a climate-friendly basement cellar. They currently offer 11 wines by the glass, often supplementing with an additional selection to compliment the evening’s dinner menu. The inn often organizes specialty wine evenings matching various wines by the glass with a special themed dinner menu.
